About Us
Where It All Began
My name is Keola Myers, born August 5, 1980, raised in Wahiawa and graduated from Leilehua High school in 1998. My father was a carpenter who owned his own cabinet company that was run, out of our garage, my mother worked at City Mill in Mililani. I started working with my father at the age of 11, learning the basics like measuring, cutting materials, assembling and installing cabinets.
Of course in high school my favorite class was woodshop. My woodshop teacher Mr. Yamamoto gave me my first job opportunity working at Martin and Macarthur in Kalihi, working under John Martin. I worked there for two years, every weekend, summer and winter breaks. Working there taught me responsibility, good work ethics along with valuable furniture making skills at a young age.
The summer of my Junior year I worked for a small cabinet shop Essential Cabinet Refacing in Sand Island, I worked there till May of 2000 then I started at Bello’s Millwork in Wahiawa where I fabricated doors and windows. Three months into working at Bello’s I was given an opportunity to work with master carpenter Sam Wood, who was an older gentleman who specialized in curved staircases. Working with Sam wasn’t easy at times, being 21 keeping up with the guy was nearly impossible he ran circles around me. That year I got to work with him, may have been the most important year of my carpentry career. The invaluable knowledge, skill, work ethic, and attention to quality that defines me as the carpenter I am today.
Given the opportunity to manage the stair department, Eric Bello entrusted me for the job. Over the past 17 years my team and I have been a part of many remarkable projects around the state from custom stairs, architectural millwork, and residential and commercial projects. Bello’s Millwork has been the leader in the millwork industry, I am very proud to have been a part of this company. I want to say a special thanks to my dad Jim Myers, Eric Bello, Sam Wood, John Martin and my brother Larry Bushe for all you have done for me over the years.
